SUCCESS SHOTS

Dave Park The Maverick Rule of Leadership

Is it better to be seen or heard?

Maverick says - "It is better to be first than to be the best."

This may be contrary to the belief that the basic model in marketing is persuading your prospective clients that you have the best or greatest service or product. This will not fly if you have to go to battle with the "Bigger than U" or "Better Financed than U."

The basic model of marketing is developing a strategy that your product or service can boast that you are first in. It will be overwhelming easier to convince your prospective clients that your product or service was first than to take on perception of who is the best. Hershey's in the chocolate category, Coca-cola in the soft drink category, Gatorade in the sports drink category, and I'll bet you can come up with the first mini-van.

The secret to success is finding a way to be first in the prospects mind.
Leslie Flowers Perception and the Win Win

You likely already know that perception is how we ‘see things.’ It’s our ‘point of view.’ And we can use the Law of Polarity (opposites) to shift our perspective of someone or something. Why bother doing that you may be thinking. What differences does it make?

Consider that we each have our own distinct point of view of everything and everyone. There are no 2 perceptions of anything precisely the same because our views come primarily from our environment and form our beliefs about everything. Why is this important? . . . Highly Successful people actually put aside for one moment their own beliefs and view of what is being discussed and stepped inside someone else’s view. (shifting perspective). They waste little time concerned with ‘feeling’ like a winner just because they ‘won’ the argument. What did they win? Nothing, really.

The next time you find yourself at odds on a subject with someone else, try this shift in perception and watch how your world Succeeds!!!
Brian Weathers Relevancy is the Goal . . .

Relevancy is the best way to move your URL listed to the top of the search engines. All search engines index web pages based on information relevancy. The more relevant the information is in your web site and to the search engine user, the higher and better your placement will be.

There are no shortcuts and there is no substitute for a solid search engine optimization strategy, which must include the following factors:

• Keyword rich content - This is the core of your site. • Clean, simply navigated design - Both search engines and end users will thank you. • Well-written source code – including title tags, meta tags, alt tags (images) & anchor tags (links).

Patience and steady work – there is no magic formula, no #1 with a bullet, period.

. . . & Writing for the Web is Distinctive

Jody Calls by Dave Park

In the United States, these cadences are sometimes called jody calls or jodies, after Jody, a recurring character who figures in some traditional cadences. The cadence always brings the troops back to thinking about the “basics.”

In Your Own Words by Martin Brossman

What if we spoke each day as though we, too, could change or influence reality? Would you choose your words in a different way? Would you use your words like a talented sculptor who lines up his chisel in just the right way to create something new and marvelous out of bare stones?

The “Limiting Belief” Gap by Leslie Flowers

Limiting beliefs create a barricade, blocking access to the perfect harmony we knew as toddlers and our intuition. We want to get back to feeling our intuition and move to shut down our limiting beliefs by creating new ones that will ultimately have us realize that we each have limitless potential!

Weathering Your Keywords by Brian Weathers

Keywords or should I say “Long Tail Keywords” (three words or more) are much easier to get a first page ranking for now because of the ever increasing amounts of competition. What I mean is competing number of pages for your particular long tail keyword. Sure, you will probably get less hits or overall impressions, but if it is a “buying” long tail keyword, then that can avoid the shoppers or tire kickers as I call them.

Imitation Sugar is Sweet . . . Too! by Dave Park

Mark Twain learned how to write by imitating other writers. As a youth he set newspaper stories in type for the newspaper. Tedious work, but it gave him the chance to imitate writers. He learned the fundamentals of great writing by copying.
